It's been a while since I've posted anything. However, today I was prompted to share this:
What Motivates Edward Soto? (A Christian Perspective)
I think this is a great question to ask yourself. I believe if you know what motivates you and what you like to be recognized for, you can know what allows you to have a powerful, happy, holy and successful life. Recognition and motivation go hand in hand. I'd like to be recognized as a servant who is appreciated. I love to help people with any needs they might have (within reason, of course), especially when it relates to my wife and family. My family is the most precious gift I have and if I can serve them to the point where they look at me with respect and love, I will be happy and feel that I have accomplished what I've been put on this earth for. When they love and respect me, that will motivate me to serve them and to earn their respect more. It also motivates me to want to accomplish other tasks that I feel I have been put on this earth to do. In addition to serving my family is the command by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to preach the Gospel to every creature and live a holy life. Not a "holier than thou" life, but a life that loves God's ways over the world's ways. Jesus said, I have come to seek and save the lost." He also said that, "What would it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul." I want to follow in my God's footsteps. In a nut shell: My God's directives and my family are my greatest motivator. I want to be recognized for my servant attitude and be appreciated for the contributions I make for my God, my wife, and the rest of my family. Jesus said, "Whoever is to be the greatest among you, will be your servant." Jesus was the greatest servant who ever lived. The God of all creation humbly came down to serve, to the point of death.
(KJV) Philippians 2:5-8, 5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
I'm not perfect, but this is what I strive for.
What motivates you? What do you want to be recognized for in life?
